As the boys are very quickly growing, we are really trying to enjoy as many activities with them as possible. To be totally truthful they are seven and nine years old and I’m sure unless swimming, ballet dancing, at school or running about with Chief, they would be firmly glued to the tv or some game console of one kind or another.
It’s become more apparent to me as they grow, that it’s either a blessing or a curse that they will now sit very quietly for more amounts of hours than I am willing to admit, in some kind of trance like state. A lot of the time we’re just trying to acknowledge that this is their peaceful time and well.. they are boys and it’s fine that sometimes they are fully absorbed in something. It’s either that or the many questions start or small remarks to each other, either out of love or you know, not so much…
So we try other activities too, James likes to offer Logan an early morning, in the dark, torch walk with Chief. While it turns out, I can sit for hours and help to build some kind of impossible lego with Ash. Age 8-14 lego is super tricky!
On Sunday we cooked. We are trying this year to eat more healthily and plan our meals better, so we figured it wouldn’t be a bad idea to pre-cook some home made sauces and soups. Abel and Cole organic fruit and veg deliveries are a great way to introduce different kinds of food and it really is always a pleasure to open our nicely strung box each Tuesday and work out which smoothies we can use them in and where they are grown.
It may not be of Star Wars battlefield level 50 accomplishment, but we did feel like it was a small but useful victory!
